The world of business is changing and large organisations need to adapt if they are to prosper into the twenty-first century.
That's according to networking and business expert Thomas Power, who shares his latest and best business ideas on this new online show. Power is co-founder of one of the largest online business networks, Ecademy, and contributes a weekly business television show here on yourBusinessChannel. Sharing his latest business development insight and advice on the show, Power says that the twentieth century approach to business is changing. Most large organsiations today operate in the old style. Power calls this approach 'closed, selective, and controlling.' “You have to be very selective what you absorb, and the people you connect with,” says Power in his business advice on the show. “And you have to be in control of everything. Because public policy demands it. Shareholders demand it. Staff demand it. The law demands it. That's institutional thinking.” Power has seen a shift in recent years to a new style of business, however. As he explains in his business development advice on this show, this shift has been away from closed institutional thinking, towards a new kind of thinking: network thinking. “When you jump into a network, you have to change all of those things,” says Power as he shares his best business ideas on the show. “You have to be open. You have to accept everything that comes at you. You have to be random. The disorder that things arrive in your life. Completely chaotic. And you have to be supportive of everyone around you.” Speaking on the business television show, Power calls this new kind of network thinking 'open, random, and supportive' thinking. You can hear Power discuss these business development ideas in detail by watching the show for free right here. |
